Guided Mountain Bike Tours in Zion FAQs
-
High quality Trek full-suspension mountain bikes designed for the terrain are included with your guided ride, along with helmets. We are happy to swap pedals at no extra charge to match your setup. Electric mountain bikes (e-MTBs) or carbon frame bike upgrades are available for a $50 upgrade fee. If you plan to bring your own mountain bike, please let us know in advance so we can properly prepare for your ride.
-
We offer mountain biking trips for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. Each trip description outlines the required fitness and technical ability. We recommend choosing a trip that matches your current comfort and experience level.
-
You’ll want to wear comfortable, weather appropriate clothing that you can ride in easily. Padded shorts, gloves, and sunglasses are helpful but not required, especially for newer riders. Helmets are provided, and you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer. We recommend bringing water (2 liters) and snacks, either in a hydration pack or a small backpack. Our guides are always happy to help make sure you’re comfortable and set up for a great ride.
-
Yes, electric mountain bikes (e-MTBs) are allowed on our guided mountain biking tours, and we do offer e-MTB rentals for an additional $50 upgrade. E-MTBs are a great option for riders who want a little extra assistance on climbs or longer rides.
That said, e-MTBs are heavier than traditional mountain bikes and require more strength and control, especially on technical terrain. For this reason, we generally do not recommend e-MTBs for younger riders or those who are new to mountain biking. Our team is always happy to help you decide which option will be the most comfortable and enjoyable for your experience level.
-
No, our guided mountain biking tours do not take place inside Zion National Park. The park has strict regulations that limit guided activities and certain types of recreation, including mountain biking and technical canyoneering.
The good news is that the areas just outside the park offer incredible terrain, scenery, and adventure opportunities that rival and often exceed what is available inside the park. These locations allow us to provide a safer, more flexible, and more personalized experience, with fewer crowds and a wider range of beginner friendly options.
By operating outside the park, we’re able to tailor routes to your group’s ability level, adjust plans based on weather and conditions, and create a more relaxed and enjoyable experience overall.
-
All of our tours are private. Your group will have a dedicated guide and will not be combined with other parties. This allows us to tailor the pace, instruction, and overall experience specifically to your group’s comfort level, interests, and goals, creating a more relaxed and personalized adventure.
